About Design Expo
Introduction

SJTU Global College Design Expo showcases undergraduate projects of GC’s design-based courses, especially the ECE/ME/MSE4500J capstone design course. It shows the actual learning outcomes of the students, and provides an opportunity to practice their ability to demonstrate the prototypes or applications on the spot. The Design Expo with 15 years’ history has become a comprehensive platform to demonstrate the practice and effectiveness of education reform at SJTU Global College.
Exhibited Courses
ECE4500J. Major Design Experience & ME4500J. Design and Manufacture III & MSE4500J Product Design and Manufacturing
Give each student a deep understanding of how to approach open-ended challenges by process, and to learn how to innovate and apply the seemingly fragmented engineering knowledge acquired at JI to the design and manufacturing of real mechanical, mechatronic or electrical/computer systems.ENGR1000J. Introduction to Engineering
Introduces students to the professional technical and communication skills required of engineers and provides them with an overview of engineering at the beginning of their program. An important component of the course is the real-world engineering projects.ENGR4903J. Undergraduate Research Course
The Undergraduate Research Courses provide undergraduate students opportunities to work with individual faculty members on their research projects. The course allows students to engage in scientific research early during their undergraduate study, and to get prepared for their future academic career in selected engineering fields.ECE4440J. Networks
This course serves as an introduction to a broad class of networks, including social networks, computer networks, trading networks, etc. Specifically, we introduce how these networks are connected, how they form, how processes and transactions take place on them, and how they are being transformed and interconnected in the modern world. Students will learn how to develop and apply mathematical models and tools from graph theory, probability and game theory in order to analyze network processes such as how opinions and fads spread on networks, how sponsored advertisements are developed, how web content is displayed, how recommendation systems work, etc.
